A child is in the hospital after being bit by a shark Sunday in the waters off of a Martin County Beach, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
The incident took place at Bathtub Beach in Stuart. Police said the beach would be closed Sunday following the bite.
According to authorities, the child suffered leg injuries.
It was not clear how old the child was or the extent of the victim’s injuries.
