ACLU Files Lawsuit Against Trump Admin's Transgender Military Ban

The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Monday against the Trump Administration over the President's plan to ban transgender Americans from serving in the armed forces.

The lawsuit alleges the order by President Trump violates the Equal Protection clause of the Constitution.

In an August 25th White House memo, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis was given six months to return to the previous policy barring transgender soldiers.

Earlier this month, five members of the armed forces sued the President and his top military brass.

They're seeking an end to the reversal of the transgender policy put in place by the Obama administration.
