UM Hurricanes Announce Starting QB With Season Opener Approaching

The University of Miami Hurricanes have designated a starting quarterback for the 2017 season, with less than two weeks to spare before the official start of their season. 

Head coach Mark Richt announced Tuesday that junior Malik Rosier will be the starter when the team hosts Bethune Cookman on September 2nd. 

Rosier beat out Evan Shirreffs, who will start the season as the second-string QB, as well as freshmen N’Kosi Perry and Cade Weldon.

Rosier has started one game in his career. 

He has played in a total of 10 games over his career, throwing for 370 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
