Veteran, 75, Attacked, Put In Choke Hold In Deerfield Beach Park Restroom

A 75-year-old war veteran says he was using the restroom at Johnnie McKeithen Park in Deerfield Beach Tuesday when he was attacked by three men.

The victim, who identified as Mr. Bert, says he passed out after someone put him in a choke hold at the restroom along Northwest First Terrace and Fifth Street.

Bert says he noticed a tall man outside as he entered the restroom, but didn’t think anything of it until he realized something was wrong.

According to the victim, one of the men blocked the front door as the attacker made his move. The attacker allegedly asked for Bert's wallet before putting him in a choke hold.

Bert says he blacked out for nearly 10 minutes. When he came to, the men were gone, his glasses were broken and he had bruises on his body.

The suspects got away with his wallet and his iPhone 7.

Bert is now hoping someone will turn the trio in to police.
