VIDEO: Worker Struck By Lightning At Fort Myers Airport Collapses

Newly obtained footage from a Florida airport runway caught the horrifying moment that lightning struck an airport worker, causing him to collapse.

Austin Dunn, 21, was working under the wing of a Sun Country Airlines plane that was hit while taxiing away from a gate at Southwest Florida International Airport on July 22nd.

The bolt struck the tail of the plane, went through the fuselage and into Dunn's body.

Video of the strike shows him immediately falling to the ground.

Dunn spent almost two weeks in the hospital. He was released Tuesday.

It is estimated that on average, each airplane in the U.S. commercial fleet is struck lightly by lightning more than once per year.
