A series of unfortunate events is sadly an understatement in this case.
A Florida woman died of an infection shortly after giving birth to twins and on the same day of the funeral of her slain boyfriend — the father of the babies.
Stephanie Caceres, 27, died Wednesday of an infection caused by her cesarean section, just 12 days after giving birth to the twins she had with 26-year-old Jevaughn Suckoo.
Unknown assailants fatally shot Suckoo July 11 outside their home in West Palm Beach.
Caseres' aunt, Joni Saunders, says the family, right now, is "just trying to figure out how to move forward."
The pediatric office where Caceres worked in the front office is taking up a collection to help the twins, Jevaughn Jr. and Lailah, and the couple's 2-year-old daughter, Kailanie.
Anyone with information about the fatal shooting of Jevaughn Suckoo is asked to contact West Palm Beach police detectives Paul Creelman or Darrin MacCarthy at 561-822-1676 or 561-822-1666 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS (8477).
Anyone who would like to donate to the three children can donate to their GoFundMe Page or donate items such as baby formula, diapers and clothing at Juan E. Batista Pediatrics at 1840 Forest Hill Blvd., Suite 101, in Lake Clarke Shores.
