A North Fort Myers teen has been sentenced to life in prison.
Manley Shane Sigman, 19, was convicted of second-degree murder in the 2015 shooting death of a man at a home in Suncoast Estates.
The state attorney's office says Sigman approached the victim who was on a screened-in lanai, shot him multiple times, then fled the scene.
The victim was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds to the hip, abdomen, chest, hand and shoulder. He later died.
Sigman was convicted on counts of second-degree murder with a firearm and shooting at, within, or into a dwelling or building, the state attorney’s office said.
Sigman has been sentenced to life in prison. However, because he is a juvenile, state law requires that his sentence be reviewed in 25 years.
