Two Pompano Beach men were placed in handcuffs and arrested Monday after authorities say they snatched a purse from a car in Sarasota County.
Sarasota County Sheriff's deputies say the victim came out of a Venice business to see a Mercedes speeding out of the parking lot at about 8 a.m. Monday.
The victim says her passenger-side window was smashed out and her purse was missing.
Authorities spotted the suspects and attempted to pull the car over. A chase pursued and two suspects were arrested after they bailed out of the car and ran into a neighborhood.
Derrick Phillips and Blunt Cooper, both 34, now face charges of burglary and grand theft.
Authorities say the purse and items inside had a total value of about $550.
All stolen items were returned to the victim.
