Kids, Ages 1 and 2, Found In Car After Police Chase Ends In Crash In Miami

A man and woman were arrested Sunday after they led police on a chase in a stolen car with two young kids inside in Miami.

Miami Police say they spotted a black Volkswagen Passat speeding on Biscayne Boulevard and when officers ran the tag. It came back stolen.

A chase ensued and ended with the car crashing into a tire inflation system at a gas station near Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 34th Street.

Police say two children, ages 1 and 2, were in the car.

The male driver and a female passenger were taken into custody. Police have not released the names of the pair, who are expected to be charged with grand theft, fleeing from police and child endangerment.

No one was injured in the incident.

The children were placed into the custody of the Department of Children and Families. A shelter hearing for the children will be held Monday afternoon.
