A Miami March for Public Education will stand in solidarity with the march in Washington D.C. Saturday.
Hundreds expected to participate in the sister rally at Miami-Dade College.
"We're standing up for the right for every child to have a fair and fully funded public education," said Marylin Reyes, Education Co-Marshal Women's March Miami.
She says they want to make our community aware of the passing of the controversial bill HB 7069, a new state law that steers more money to privately-run charter schools.
The event is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chapman Conference Center at the Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus, Building 3, 2nd floor, 254 NE 4th Street, Miami.
