Sears Hopes For Revival With New Selling Partner, Amazon

Struggling retailer Sears has admitted defeat against competing, online marketplaces. But instead of surrendering, the company has decided to join forces with one of the biggest names in the biz.

Sears announced Thursday that it will soon start selling its appliances on Amazon.

Its full line of Kenmore-branded appliances will be marketed on Amazon, including smart appliances that can be synced with Alexa,  Amazon's voice assistant.

The announcement sent shares of Sears soaring over 20 percent Thursday morning.

Analysts say the move is welcome news for Sears, which has been forced to close hundreds of stores recently.
