Humana Foundation To Award Broward County Non-Profit $100,000 Grant

The Humana Foundation will award the Hispanic Unity of Florida a $100,000 grant to expand the Te Ayudo Program.  Te Ayudo (I Help You) connects hundreds of uninsured and underinsured individuals and families in Broward County to affordable healthcare services.

The Humana Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Humana and says they seek to improve community health and Broward County is a priority.

"What we believe is, by offering additional funding for Te Ayudo the program is going to be able to access more individuals in this marketplace.  Te Ayudo will help educate people on the health insurance marketplace that's out there," said Giselle Cushing, Humana Market Vice President, South Florida.

The company says they're committed to making Broward County 20% healthier by 2020 as a part of its Bold Goal initiative.

The check presentation is Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hispanic Unity of Florida, 5840 Johnson Street, Hollywood 33021.
