An Aventura man has bonded out of jail, but a judge has ordered him to stay away from his young son.
Peter Juris, 40, was in court Tuesday after being arrested a day earlier on battery and child abuse charges.
Several witnesses told police they saw him punching the boy in the face and chest after carrying him out of the Chuck E. Cheese's family entertainment center on Biscayne Boulevard.
The boy was then taken to a hospital for an examination.
Officials from the Florida Department of Children and Families said in a statement that an investigation has been opened into the family, which has no prior cases pending.
