Miami Gardens Teen Killed In Drive-By Shooting, Suspect(s) At Large

A 17-year-old Miami Gardens boy has died following an apparent drive-by shooting, police say.

Miami Gardens Police says the teen, who was identified by his mother as Nathaniel Jackson, was sitting on a friend’s porch at the time of the shooting, along Northwest 207th Street near 29th Avenue, Monday afternoon.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue transported Jackson to Memorial Regional Hospital in unknown condition, where he later died. Authorities say the teen was struck at least one time.

Jackson’s mother says her son attended Miami Carol City Senior High School.

Investigators are now sifting through evidence, as they try to find the person responsible in the shooting. Across the street from the scene is a church, which authorities hope may have surveillance cameras that could identify the car, and the person or persons who opened fire.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
