Can't Make It To The Beach? Now The Beach Can Come To You Via Webcam

Longing for the beach but just can't get there? Have no fear!

Live webcams from 11 different South Florida cities let you watch the beach (and beach-goers) in real time.

Most cities say the beachcams allow people to check the beach conditions before they head out. For example, fishermen may use the cameras to check for choppy water before baiting up. However, others have found it uncomfortable to learn that they're on "candid camera" while soaking up the sun.

Whether you're for or against the beachy streams, here's where you can find the cams:

  • Boca Raton: The feed shows the pavilion at South Beach Park, the beach and the surf facing north. There’s a panorama shot and also the option to zoom in, or pan to get the whole view of the beach
  • Dania Beach: This feed offers four views on rotation (two of the beach and two of the pier). This feed gets more than 3,000 views each day
  • Deerfield Beach: Aside from what's going on on land, viewers can dive under the waves with an underwater cam view located at the end of the pier
  • Delray Beach: With more than 4,000 views in the past month, Delray's beachcam is also streamed on the City of Delray Beach's YouTube account
  • Fort Lauderdale: Three, privately run cameras are operated by the Courtyard Marriot in Fort Lauderdale
  • Hollywood Beach: This webcam gets around 10,000 views each month and has six different presets with differing views
  • Lauderdale By The Sea: There are two cameras here; one shows the beach and pier and the other points at Anglin’s Square. In just over a year, the city's beachcams have had about 28,000 views
  • Miami Beach: Miami has cams on South Beach, Ocean Drive, Downtown Miami, Biscayne Bay and Sunny Isles Beach. The feeds have gotten over 50,000 views this month.
  • Pompano Beach: These three webcams face the Hillsboro lighthouse, inlet, and park, and get about 20,000 views per month.
