Weston Sprayed For Mosquito Prevention Monday, Officials Say

Fireworks aren't the only thing to watch out for in the sky this Fourth of July weekend.

Broward County officials say they sprayed the city Weston for mosquitoes early Monday morning (between 4 and 6 a.m.). Those with breathing problems are being asked to stay inside for the duration of the morning.

Crews are targeting a nuisance, non disease-carrying, mosquito connected to recent, heavy rainfall in the area.

The boundaries of the morning's spraying span from Interstate 75 on the north to Griffin Road on the south and 210 Avenue on the West and 165 Avenue on the East.

Spraying in Miami-Dade has already wrapped up. The area from Miami south toward Homestead and Florida City was treated with the insecticide, naled.
