An Orlando City Soccer Club star is looking at a drunk driving charge after a trooper caught him driving the wrong way on an Orlando street.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Cyle Larin's blood alcohol level was 0.179 -- more than double the legal limit, when he was pulled over on Orange Avenue near Lake Ivanhow Boulevard early Thursday.
Larin allegedly said he had “two or three vodka Red Bulls” with a female companion at Club Ono in downtown Orlando, but continued to change his answer about how much he had to drink.
Police say Larin also struggled to complete the field sobriety exercises.
He was taken to the Orange County Jail, where his $500 bond was pending, records show.
Records show Larin had to complete a four-hour drivers training course twice — once after a speeding ticket in 2015 and a second earlier this year after failing to follow a traffic device. Both offenses occurred in Orange County.
Orlando City selected Larin No. 1 overall in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. He signed a professional contract after playing two years at the University of Connecticut.
The team had no immediate comment.
