A Pembroke Pines karate instructor is on the chopping block.
According to police, 22-year-old Jonathan Vega kissed one of his 12-year-old students. Vega allegedly also told the girl to change his name in her phone contacts so that her parents wouldn't know she was talking to her instructor.
Vega is a karate teacher at Premier Martial Arts at 15999 Pines Blvd.
Police say at first he put the blame on the girl, but later admitted that what he did was illegal and told them he has always been attracted to children and doesn't trust himself around them.
He's being charged with one count of lewd and lascivious behavior, which is a second-degree felony.
He remains behind bars on a $50,000 bond.
