LIVE: Congressman & Others Shot at VA Baseball Practice

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana was shot Wednesday at a congressional baseball practice, congressional officials say. Rep. Mo Brooks, R-Ala., said several other people also were hit, including two law enforcement officers.

President Trump is offering thoughts and prayers after a shooting outside Washington, DC.  House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and two Capitol police officers were shot and injured.  They are reported to be in stable condition.  In a statement, Trump said he and Vice President Mike Pence are deeply saddened by the shooting and are monitoring developments closely.  It happened at a practice for an annual charity baseball game between Republicans and Democrats.  The shooter, while first reported to have been in custody, is in fact dead.
