Detectives in Pinellas County are currently investigating the death of a 6-month-old that took place Monday.
The baby was found dead in a St. Petersburg home on 51st Avenue North just before 1 p.m.
Deputies say the infant boy was found with his head stuck between a mattress and the headboard.
The boy's father allegedly put him down for a nap in his bed, as opposed to the baby's crib. About an hour and a half later, one of the baby's siblings found him unresponsive.
The boy's mother was not home at the the time.
An autopsy will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
