Cutler Bay residents have a new place to turn when they get the flu or fracture a bone. Jackson Health System is opening a 5,000 square foot urgent care center on South Dixie Highway Monday.
The new facility will be located at 18910 South Dixie Highway.
Urgent care centers specialize in "treating common conditions with uncommon convenience," open seven days per week and staffed with board certified physicians from the University of Miami Health System.
Services include common ailments (cold and flu, fever, earache, etc.), diagnostic procedures, lab tests and more. For a complete list of services, click here.
Jackson Health says "We have been working to identify strategic locations for the centers – focusing on areas that lack access to the existing Jackson network of hospitals, are under served by urgent care facilities, or are heavily populated with too much demand to be met by existing facilities."
The ribbon cutting for the new Cutler Bay location is at 10 a.m. The first patients will be treated at 12 p.m.
The urgent care center will be open daily from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
