Volusia County Woman Under Arrest After Putting Toddler's Feet In Scalding Water

A Volusia County woman is now in jail, after police say she intentionally dipped her toddler's feet into scalding hot water.

Holy Hill resident Sheretta Harris, 21, turned herself in Tuesday night after police say she intentionally put her 3-year-old son's feet into nearly boiling water.

Authorities say the toddler's feet were so badly burned, the skin peeled off up to his ankles.

Investigators also say the child had a broken arm last year that appeared to be suspicious.

Harris now faces a charge of aggravated child abuse and is being held on $15,000 bond.

The current condition of the child was not immediately available.
