A 67-year-old therapist is under arrest, after authorities say he tried to kiss a 13-year-old girl during a therapy session Tuesday.
The child allegedly had a therapy session at 5 p.m. Tuesday with Pedro Julio Garcia at his practice at 9010 SW 137th Avenue in the Kendall area of Miami.
Garcia is the president of PJ Psychotherapy at 14050 SW 84th Street in Miami. According to the PJ website, Garcia has been a licensed psychologist since 1974.
Police say Garcia told the girl to lay down on a sofa and close her eyes. The girl told officers that Garcia put two of his fingers over her lips and asked if his fingers "felt like her boyfriend's kisses."
The victim says Garcia lifted her shirt, rubbed her stomach and asked if his touch reminded her of her boyfriend's.
Police say the girl got up and attempted to walk away. But she told police that Garcia grabbed her and tried to kiss her on the mouth.
The girl says she turned away and he kissed her cheek. She says he was also rubbing her buttocks over her clothes.
Garcia was arrested Wednesday on charges of molestation of a child 12-16 years of age and lewd and lascivious conduct on a child under the age of 16.
In bond court, Garcia said the allegations surprised him and that he'd treated the patient about four times.
