Newbie Nurse Jumps Into Action To Save Fellow Passenger On Flight From FLL

A young nurse is credited with saving the life of a fellow passenger while on a flight from Fort Lauderdale to New Jersey.

New Jersey native and 22-year-old Courtney Donlon has only been on the job for nine months, but when a flight attendant asked over the loud speaker if anyone was a medical professional, Donlon sprung to action.

Donlon assessed the 57-year-old passenger, who was traveling alone and appeared to be in excruciating pain, and determined that the woman was displaying symptoms of a heart attack.

The young nurse administered oxygen to the woman and scoured the plane for a patient with aspirin. She then advised the pilot to make an emergency landing.

The pilot landed the aircraft in Charleston, South Carolina, and the woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Donlon is unsure of the woman's condition but hopes she will reach out to her.
