Rape Suspect Re-Arrested After Being Mistakenly Released in Miami-Dade

A rape suspect is back in custody after being mistakenly released.

Miami-Dade Police say Randy Early was re-arrested by their sexual predator unit around 8 p.m. Tuesday near Northwest 79th street and Northwest Second Avenue.

He's charged with sexual battery, trespassing and strong armed robbery, but, because he has mental health issues, he's being considered incompetent and has been living under house-arrest.

Early was being monitored by the court, but sometime last week was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for medical issues and was later discharged.

The revelation that Early had been released was made in court Tuesday once a judge discovered that the suspect was missing.

The judge assigned to the case was upset over how something like this could happen and issued an arrest warrant.

Jackson Memorial Hospital declined to comment on this matter, citing patient privacy concerns.
