Miami-Dade Neighbors Can Go Solar for Less Green

The League of Women Voters of Miami-Dade and Florida Solar United Neighborhoods have teamed up to create a solar co-op program.

Solar Co-Op Program Chair, Maggie Fernandez, says groups of neighbors can come together and join the co-op and save up to 20% on solar panels.

"We're going to have six [solar] co-ops in different areas in Miami-Dade County.  To start with we're going to have informational sessions for anyone who's interested in joining a co-op," said Fernandez.

She says the goal is to facilitate at least 350 residential solar systems with about 50 homeowners in each co-op.  All Miami-Dade homeowners are eligible to participate.
