Florida Man Murders Roommates, Tells Police They Disrespected His Faith

A Tampa man is under arrest after police say he led them to the bodies of his two roommates that he allegedly murdered.

The Tampa Police Department says 18-year-old Devon Arthurs told officers he killed his roommates because they were neo-Nazis who disrespected his recent conversion to Islam. Before his conversion, Arthurs told police he shared their neo-Nazi beliefs.

Arthurs was arrested Friday after he allegedly held two customers and an employee hostage at a Tampa smoke shop. Police talked Arthurs into letting the hostages go, and took him into custody.

Arthurs allegedly made reference to "Allah Mohammed!" while officers walked him to the patrol vehicle after he was taken into custody. He then led police to his roommates' bodies.

Jeremy Himmelman, 22, and Andrew Oneschuk, 18, were found dead with gunshot wounds in their apartment on Amberly Drive in Tampa Bay.

Arthurs told police he was angry about anti-Muslim sentiment and wanted to bring attention to the issue.
