Apple (Yes, The iPhone Apple) Has Patented A Genius Pizza Box (Yes, It's For Pizza)

The company that has brought us the most addictive phone on the planet is now taking a stab at the vessel for the most addicting food on the planet.

Apple's head of food services helped patent the pizza box, which is currently in use at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. Pictures of the new device are now popping up on social media.

The contraption is designed to keep pizza from getting soggy by implementing eight vents on the top of the lid that allow for steam to escape. Portions of the base of the box can also be lifted to provide a support platform for the pie, in order to prevent moisture from being trapped beneath the pizza (thus creating sogginess.)

Anyone who has ever folded a pizza box will probably rejoice at the news that no assembly is needed for the box, which has a clamshell-style hinge. The containers nest into each other to save space.

It's also circular — like Apple's new building — which actually does seem to make sense for a pizza.

The company has declined to comment on further details, but if you want to review the entire patent for your own enjoyment, click here.
