Coast Guard Continues Searches Off Florida's East Coast

The U.S. Coast Guard is continuing its search into the whereabouts of a Delray Beach woman who went missing in the waters near the Bahamas.  Federal officials searched for a third day yesterday for Isabella Hellman.

The Palm Beach County woman was reported missing by her husband after disappearing Sunday from a catamaran 30 miles west of Cay Sal.  A 34-hundred-square mile search has not yet turned up any sign of the woman.

The USCG is also leading a search into what happened to a flight heading to Titusville that disappeared near the Bahamas.  Federal marine officials in Miami yesterday said wreckage from a small plane was found in the Atlantic, 37 miles east of Eleuthera Island.

The FAA said a Monday flight from Puerto Rico bound for Long Island, New York, was expected to stop for fuel at the Space Coast airport early yesterday before it disappeared from local radar.

The plane was carrying a New Hampshire man, and New York woman, and two children.  Authorities have not found any sign of the four passengers alive.
