Broward Superintendent Warns Parents About '13 Reasons Why'

The controversial Netflix series '13 Reasons Why' has the Broward superintendent warning parents about the show.

The series which centers around a high school student who kills herself after being raped is a concern to educators.

Broward County Superintendent Robert Runcie says media trends generated by the show is what caused him to write a letter to parents Monday.

"I wanted to make sure they were advised to make sure they're monitoring their child's viewing habits and the choices that they're making online and that they're having conversations with their children on a regular basis," said Superintendent Runcie.

Netflix has responded to the backlash by adding more warnings to the show.  The series will return in 2018 for a second season.
