Plantation After-School Worker Accused of Trying To Recruit Male Students For Sex

A 20-year-old worker at Plantation Middle School's after-care program faces federal charges of offering money, gifts and trips to Disney World to recruit teenage boys for sex.

Roosevelt Miller is due in court federal court Wednesday following his arrest last week. He is accused of texting three teenage boys throughout February and March, and offering them gifts, cash and vacations to entice them to engage in sexual activity.

After being hired by Plantation Middle School, Miller tricked several students into giving him their cell phone numbers by asking them to write their names and phone numbers on a list if they were interested in playing basketball or football, the Sun Sentinel reports.

Program officials say there was no approved program and Miller had created the list on his own.

One of the victims says Miller sent him messages several times through the mobile app KIK, and asked if he was gay, told the boy he was “sexy” and said he would give him money and “spoil him” in exchange for oral sex, according to court records.

Miller is facing federal charges of using a cell phone to entice minors to engage in sexual activity.

He has not yet indicated if he will fight the charges.
