Authorities are dropping one misdemeanor count against a man charged with fatally shooting a Florida police officer.
Prosecutors have dropped a charge of resisting a law enforcement officer without violence against Markeith Loyd on Friday.
The charge stemmed from his arrest in January following a week-long manhunt after the fatal shooting of Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton.
His case prompted a legal skirmish between the state attorney in Orlando and Florida's governor.
