Homestead Honors Military with a Festival Saturday

For the 6th year in a row, Homestead celebrates our service members on Military Appreciation Day.

In Downtown Homestead there will be food trucks, vendors and a variety of military vehicles on display.

Stephen Shelley, Councilman for the City of Homestead, says it's a way to say thank you.

"First and foremost, thank the military men and women for all that they do for our country, the sacrifices they make and the freedom they provide us.  Secondarily, to allow the public to get a first up close and personal look at exactly what the military does and how they protect us with our freedoms, through static displays and other hands on interactive events that we have going on," said Councilmen Shelley.

The family-friendly free event is Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Downtown Homestead, 104 North Krome Avenue.
