A 13-year-old girl has died after authorities say she was accidentally shot by her brother at their Florida City home.
Authorities say the girl's brother and a friend were handling the gun when it went off Tuesday night at 421 NW 167th Street. Reports allege that the friend of the brother brought the gun into the house.
The girl's brother is facing aggravated manslaughter charges and a friend who gave him the gun is also facing charges.
Teddra King, known as Rosie by family and friends, was fatally wounded when the weapon fired.
Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto Carvalho called the killing "heartbreaking, reckless gun violence," on Twitter and criticized easy access to guns.
Police have not yet commented on whether charges will be filed.
