Two people are dead, and two more remain hospitalized, following a violent night in West Park.
Police say a man, 9-year-old girl, and a 5-months pregnant woman were sitting in a car along Southwest 22nd Street and 46th Avenue when shots rang out just before 11 p.m.
The adult victims, identified by family members as 29-year-old Tyrell Myrick and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Patrice Nunnaly, were taken to Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, where Nunnaly later died and Myrick remains in serious condition.
Their 9-year-old daughter was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, where she also is in serious condition after being shot in the thigh, knee and arm.
Moments later, police received another call reporting gunshots at S.W. 23rd Street and 54th Avenue. That victim was also taken to Memorial Hospital, where he later died.
Authorities do not believe that the two shootings are connected, however, they continue to investigate both incidents. There is no word on any suspect(s) at this time.
