Authorities say a 16-year-old Orlando girl fatally shot her teenage friend and dumped her body on the side of a road.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Thursday that the teen is being questioned in the death of 15-year-old Melanie Mesen Medina. Her body was found by a passer-by on Tuesday morning.
Demings said 22-year-old Ramsys Javier CruzAbreu was arrested on an accessory to murder charge after telling investigators the teen shot Medina. Authorities are currently investigating the relationship between the man and the girls.
The girl confirmed the story, but didn't say why the gun went off. She's in custody but hasn't yet been charged.
CruzAbreu is being held on a $50,000 bond.
