FIU Women's Organization To Host Walk Honoring Sexual Assault Awareness

The Florida International University chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) is set to host its fifth annual "Miami SlutWalk" Friday.

The event highlights issues of sexual assault and intimate partner/gender-based violence on college campuses during April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The motto for the walk is "because every 98 seconds another person experiences sexual assault."

Registration for the event beings at 3 p.m. Friday on the FIU Housing Quad. The walk begins at 5 p.m. Friday evening.

SlutWalk participation is free for all FIU students.
