U.S. Senator Bill Nelson will be in West Palm Beach Monday to meet with a group of experts. The topic of discussion? Extreme Weather and Coastal Flooding in South Florida.
Dr. Leonard "Len" Berry, PhD, Emeritus Professor of Geosciences at Florida Atlantic University is one of the experts who'll be speaking to our state senator and says the coastal flooding issue affects our economy.
"What we tend to focus on is that the issue is of structure, flooding the building and damaging facilities and that obviously is terribly important. The longer run issue is how we sustain our tourist economy," said Dr. Berry.
Dr. Berry hopes he can bring awareness and move the ball forward when it comes to resolving the issue of coastal flooding in Southeast Florida.
