"Impeach Trump" Banner Soars at Marlins' Opening Game

Not that I want to dwell much on the Washington Nationals' 5-4 victory over the Miami Marlins Monday, but opening day is usually something to talk about.

However, after this game, there's something besides that diamond that has people talking.

During the Marlins' first game of the season in D.C. Monday afternoon, a group of protesters donned a MASSIVE banner, styled like a Russian flag, that read "IMPEACH TRUMP #RESIST".

The larger than life message hung from the observation deck on the first base line as more than 40,000 people filled out Nationals Park... which, need not we forget, is located only a few miles from the White House.

Protesters rolled out the sign just before the end of the game, then made their exit to avoid any potential conflicts or arrests. The populist network "America Takes Action" later took responsibility for the act.

President Donald Trump declined an invitation to throw out the first pitch at the Nationals' opening day game (a ritual that many presidents have taken part in since 1910). White House Officials cited a scheduling conflict for Trump's no-show on the pitcher's mound.
