New Security Measures in Wake of FLL Airport Shooting

Delta Airlines is now adding extra security measures, in the wake of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport shooting.

In that incident that took place in January, a gunman got off a Delta flight, retrieved his weapon and ammunition from checked bags then killed five people and injured six others.

Delta is now requiring special tags on bags carrying weapons. Those bags will have to be picked up from a separate location, an ID check will be done on the person retrieving the bag and the luggage will be secured with zip ties.

A police officer will also monitor the person who picks up the bag.
