Flynn Seeks Immunity From Trump-Russia Investigation, Trump & Dems. Weigh In

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is seeking "assurances against unfair prosecution" (AKA immunity) in exchange for testifying to Congress about the Trump campaign and Russia.

The Wall Street Journal first reported that Flynn made an offer to testify in exchange for immunity to FBI and members of Congress.

So far, no one has taken him up on the offer.

Friday, President Trump gave his two cents on Twitter, agreeing with Flynn's position on immunity. He calls the investigation "a witch hunt by the Democrats and the media."

At the same time, Democrats are also responding, insinuating that Flynn may be hiding something.

Top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff, said testimony from former acting Attorney General Sally Yates could shed some more light on Flynn’s alleged offer. Yates had been scheduled to testify in a public hearing this week, but Rep. Devin Nunes abruptly called it off.

Others have also let their own opinions fly:

Flynn isn’t the only one accused of having improper contact with the Russian government. Former advisers Carter Page, J.D. Gordon, former campaign manager Paul Manafort and longtime confidant Roger Stone have also been been tied to the Kremlin.
