Keeping It In The Family: Trump Appoints Kushner Head of New Office

President Trump is trying to turn a new leaf Monday by creating a new White House office designed to "fix" the federal government by initiating business strategies. The proposed leader of this new office? Trumpy's very own son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

“The government should be run like a great American company,” Kushner said Sunday in an interview with The Washington Post, which first revealed the new initiative. “Our hope is that we can achieve successes and efficiency for our customers, who are the citizens.”

The Post says the White House is already working with Apple chief executive Tim Cook, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Salesforce chief executive Marc Benioff and Tesla founder and chief executive Elon Musk. The group has already hosted sessions with more than 100 such leaders and government officials.

Trump personally picked Kushner for the executive position... surprise, surprise. In the role, Kushner will be granted overarching authority of the federal bureaucracy and will attempt to meet (that many, already failing) campaign promises. The business strategies Kushner aims to utilize could include privatizing some government tasks, the Post reported.

The new job adds yet another duty to an already full plate for Ivanka’s husband. Also serving as a senior advisor to the president, Kushner is a key foreign policy adviser and the point person in charge of helping secure Israeli-Palestinian peace.

Here's to keeping it in the family!
