Legislators Closer to Banning Red Light Cameras

The Florida House has given the Green Light to getting rid of Red Light Cameras. The Florida House of Representatives has voted to ban the cameras by a 4 to 1 margin. 

The same bill died in a Senate committee, but Representative Bryan Avila of R- Hialeah is optimistic about Senate support and that the issue is still viable while the legislature is in session.

60 cities in Florida that use automated cameras to catch red light runners. Last year the tickets added up to more than 150 million dollars to local coffers.
