WATCH: Organizers Push for Drug Free Ultra Music Festival

"Enjoy the beat drug-free" is the message from Ultra Music Festival organizers.

They've teamed up with the City of Miami Police and Fire Department and ride sharing services to help keep festival-goers safe.  Baptist Health will also be on site for anyone who would like advice on substance abuse counseling and treatment.

It's the 19th year for Ultra and Security Chief Ray Martinez says a lot of changes have been made over the last few years to improve safety.

"We place amnesty boxes through our entry process, so after you get your ID checked and before you get your clear bag checked and a pat down check, we actually have amnesty boxes....last year when I checked the boxes they were pretty full, we had a lot of people depositing illegal drugs, alcohol and contraband," said Martinez.

"We learn what to do different, we learn what to do better.  We've seen some incidents in the past and every year it seems to be getting better.  Our arrests go down and I think that's because we are having a better flow of communication," Miami Police Lt. Freddie Cruz.

Ultra will provide free water, have teams of college students on the ground looking for people who may be dehydrated and a security wall to keep people who didn't purchase tickets out of the festival.
