State authorities are searching for a spring breaker and a boat crew member who have gone missing in Tampa Bay-area waters.

Officials say 15 Colorado State University students were on an anchored charter boat Tuesday evening off Shell Key when five male students went swimming off its side. Only four students made it back.

A crew member saw the fifth student struggling and jumped into the water to help, Coast Guard officials say. The crew member has been identified as 27-year-old Andrew Dillman of New York, and the spring breaking college student as 21-year-old Jie Lou of China.

Deputies say that the waters were turbulent and neither man wore a flotation device. Colorado State University spokesman Mike Hooker expressed concern for the students and Dillman in a statement Wednesday.
