Authorities say that a snake may have saved a woman from being raped in Lehigh Acres.
The woman allegedly called authorities in Lee County after finding a snake in her bathroom.
While waiting for authorities, 28-year-old Malcolm Porter came up behind her. The victim claims Malcolm grabbed her by the neck, choked her and demanded sex.
After removing the woman's underwear, Porter allegedly told her to get condoms from another room. At that point, she ran outside to deputies responding to the snake call.
Porter was arrested and charged with battery by strangulation. Authorities say Porter knew the victim. The woman believes he may have been high on the drug Molly during the attack.
Porter is being held with no bond.
