Confirmed Tornado Touches Down in Broward County

Lightning, rain, and what has been confirmed as a tornado touched down in Plantation overnight. The storm caused fallen trees and other damages. 

A tornado warning was issued early Tuesday for parts of Broward County as Doppler radar indicated one had struck down in the area.

Authorities responded to trees that had fallen and crushed cars in the area between Nob Hill Road and NW 6th Street through Cleary Blvd. and NW 98th Avenue.

National Weather Service officials announced that an EF1 tornado did indeed strike the area.

Clean up crews were working throughout the morning. No injuries were reported.
