March Madness Hits Florida: UM to Play Friday

The University of Miami is one of the local teams competing in the NCAA men's basketball tournament this year. 

Four teams in total from the state of Florida will be competing in "March Madness":

  • University of Florida
  • Florida State
  • University of Miami
  • Florida Gulf Coast University

Miami will take on Michigan State on Friday in Tulsa. In the meantime, umber three seed Florida State meets number 14 Florida Gulf Coast in Orlando on Thursday, and number four seeded Florida will play number 13 seed East Tennessee State at Amway Center.

The University of Miami holds the eighth seed in the region. Miami finished the regular season with a 21-11 record.

  • First Four - March 14, 15
  • First round - March 16, 17
  • Second round - March 18, 19
  • Sweet 16 - March 23, 24
  • Elite Eight - March 25, 26
  • Final Four - April 1
  • National Championship - April 3
