WATCH: Governor Scott Discusses Obamacare Replacement

Florida Governor Rick Scott is in Washington D.C. where he is meeting with leading Republicans as the House of Representatives rolls out a bill to replace Obamacare.

While the proposal has been met with sharp criticism from both Democrats and conservatives within the GOP, Governor Scott says it is a big upgrade from the current system because while the Affordable Care Act helped people get insurance coverage, they were not able to use it because of the high deductibles for treatments and medicines that became even more expensive in recent years.

Scott believes the Republican bill is much more effective at reigning in the costs of care which will help make access more widely available for people.

He also discusses why he decided not to expand Medicaid under the ACA and what will happen to the program and other impacts the new proposal would have on Floridians on Fox News Channel's "The First 100 Days."

Many Republicans have said they will not vote for the bill to pass as it is currently written, including four Republican Senators, which would mean the proposed law would not have the required support to make it through the chamber and to President Trump's desk to sign.

As the mark-up process began in House Committees overnight, Democrats suggested many amendments to the bill and it is expected to go through many more before coming up for an official vote.
