Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz addressed local elected officials on U.S. immigration policy and customs enforcement Thursday morning in Sunrise.
Rep. Wasserman Schultz has been briefed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on anticipated changes that will be made to the U.S. immigration policy. On Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security released documents highlighting the proposed changes made by President Trump.
In an official press release for the briefing, the policy changes are described as a cruel plan that will be costly, dangerous, and "undermines America’s long-held values of due process and welcoming immigrants to our shore".
